SODIS Lab took part in the 7th International Course on Geotechnical and Structural Monitoring (ICGSM 2021), which was held on June 14–16, 2021. Business Development Director of SODIS Lab Victor Lebedev spoke about the implementation of the structural monitoring system on an example of a high-rise building project by the leading Russian developer PIK Group.

The event was organized by the Italian company NHAZCA (Natural HAZards Control and Assessment)*, which is one of the international leaders in the analysis and monitoring of natural hazards and large infrastructures for the management and mitigation of risks. The conference was attended by leading international companies such as Vista Data Vision, Geokon, RST, HEXAGON, and others.

Victor Lebedev presented a joint project with a major Russian developer PIK Group, implemented at the construction site of a 100-meter building in the Amurskiy Park residential complex. For the first time in Russia, it was decided to build a residential building of such height using a new technology of panels joint. Structural engineers from PIK decided to equip the building with a monitoring system to empirically confirm the correctness of the design calculations.

The monitoring system was created by SODIS Lab specialists, who installed a network of strain sensors. The project also provides for the use of tiltmeters and accelerometers. «The main task was to start collecting data from sensors at the facility under construction as early as possible. To ensure safety rules, they are connected to the data collection system immediately after the construction of each floor with a minimum delay», said Victor Lebedev. He added that the installed online monitoring system made it possible for PIK Group engineers to check their calculations in practice and, if necessary, adjust design solutions.
